Mobility appears to be my main issue in terms of carbon footprints. Yet, we do not live in caves and the tyre has indeed been invented. Honestly, I do not intend to step backward. So, where do I strike my own mobility balance to contribute to sustainability? Urban mobility & public transportation go easily hand in hand. Yet, not all areas are equally well served; different jobs have different timing requirements; people have varied situations and needs. When my kids were younger and I had to drive them here and there, I took advantage of car sharing. Since they have become teenagers, we are all on public transportation and I have dropped car sharing. However, car sharing is thriving in the urban environment and it’s a great way to strike the sustainable balance. As for flying, my main criteria so far is .... Love. As the saying goes, in Love there are no rules🤣. Is Love sustainable and where do you strike the balance? 🤔I’ll move the question to the Alive chapter.
Great point Marzia. To me, Flying is a synonym of adventure, freedom and family. For now I offset CO2 release after each airflight, and take train or car share when available. Love is not sustainable on every aspect. I’d say, when it impacts ecosystems, it cannot be sustainable. When love is about simplicity (being in the moment and that’s it) then I believe it is sustainable
